News and Record Bench by Jim Gallucci is a silicon-bronze bench made up of sheets of newspaper, magazines, and boxes. This bench honors a former News & Record publisher Van King who retired in 2004. This bench was moved to LeBauer Park in 2020 as a gift from the News & Record and through a partnership with the Greensboro Downtown Parks Inc., The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro and the Public Art Endowment. It is placed in the SW entrance to the park by Davie Street. It is now adjacent to what was the original News & Record building – the Greensboro Cultural Center.
