This mural by Australian muralist Adnate depicts Lumbee Ambassador, Madison Davenport. Adnate photographed Davenport in the regalia of her Lumbee heritage. The piece celebrates the long history of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina– many of whom live in the Guilford County area. The mural, which was commissioned by local developer Marty Kotis, covers a concrete wall in Kotis’ Tracks Bazaar near West Gate City Boulevard and South Eugene Street. Walk down a new sidewalk from Fat Tuesday restaurant under the Eugene Street bridge. Pass artist Steven Darling’s pine cone patchwork design under the bridge. Turn left into the Tracks Beer Garden site, and Davenport’s portrait appears on the left.
