Propeller Whirligig


Vollis Simpson was a self-taught artist.  In 1985 began creating whirligigs full-time when he retired from his machinery repair business.  His whirligigs can be seen in museums all over the country. Photos taken by Julie Knight and Action Greensboro.

Saturday Morning – Piazza Della Republica – Cortona


Virginia Wright-Frierson is a painter and illustrator.  Some of her books include A Desert Scrapbook, A North American Rain Forest Scrapbook and An Island Scrapbook.  The scene depicts a typical Saturday morning in an Italian town. Photos taken by Lynn Donovan and Action Greensboro.
